The English and Drama departments took 40 students to see Shakespeare's 'The Merchant of Venice' at The Globe. It was a very lively production that even included a hot tub as part of the set! Thanks to everyone who supported this trip.
Year 9 team won the Ouse Valley Hockey tournament at Beacon last week. Impressive wins over Uplands (3-0) and a massive 11-0 vs Chailey!! Well played everyone.Player of the matches - Megan Bodsworth for a great first appearance in goal!!
During the week beginning the 10th of March a group of enthusiastic, caring UCTC sixth formers decided to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital by dressing up each day of the week in different themed costumes.
Hannah Ashby of 8L has had a fantastic couple of weekends at the Sussex County Swimming Championships which have been held at K2 in Crawley over last weekend and the one 2 weeks ago. This competition is the highlight of the swimming year and the culmination of a huge amount of training on Hannah's part in order to qualify for the events in this championship. Hannah managed to achieve qualifying times in 11 events this year which is amazing in itself.
As is our custom at the end of every full term, lessons will end at 13.20 pm on Friday 4th April. Food is available for students if required at morning break. School transport will leave the college at 13.35 pm. College re-opens on Wednesday 23rd April. (Tuesday 22nd April is an INSET day)

BBC School Reporters on Women's Hour - Tuesday 25th March
You will be able to listen to our wonderful Year 9 BBC School Reporters tomorrow (25th) on Women's Hour. They have pre-recorded an interview with Mrs McLachlan about her soon to be published book, and this is followed by a brief discussion on the pressures of being a teenager. Last November Ofqual announced that from September (2013) students in England will no longer be able to sit A-level exams in January.
